Track volunteer hours outside a shift
Volunteer work doesn’t always happen during a scheduled shift. Volunteers can now submit time spent on other activities for review, and approved hours will appear alongside their shift hours.
Submitting hours as a user
- Open Track your time and choose Log time I gave. You can also use the public Track your time page without signing in.
- Under What did you work on?, choose a category or select Something else… and describe the activity.
- Enter your hours and the date you volunteered. Add notes if they would help the reviewer.
- Select Submit … hrs for review. If you’re not signed in, you’ll also need to provide your name and email.
You can enter a fraction of an hour—for example, 1.5 for one hour and 30 minutes. The date must be today or earlier.
Check a submission
Signed-in members can find their submissions under Your Volunteering → Other hours. Each entry shows its hours and whether it’s In review, Approved, or Not approved. Hours in review don’t count toward your approved total.
They can’t edit a submission after sending it, they will need to contact a Volunteer Manager if something needs correcting.
For Volunteer Managers
Open Volunteering → All Signups → Non-shift submissions to review entries. You can adjust the hours, date, or category before approving or rejecting a submission. You can also use Record hours to add hours on someone’s behalf; those hours are approved when saved.
Manage the available activity choices in Volunteer Settings → Hour categories. To see approved shift and non-shift hours together, open Volunteering → Volunteer Hours; you can filter by date and export a CSV.
