Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds an extra security check when you sign in. After entering your password, you’ll enter a six-digit code generated by an authenticator app on your phone.
Turn on MFA
1. Open My Profile and select General.
2. Find Authenticator app and choose Enable authenticator app.
3. Confirm your identity with your current password or linked social sign-in.
4. Open an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.
5. Scan the displayed QR code. If scanning isn’t possible, enter the setup key manually.
6. Enter the six-digit code shown in the authenticator app.
7. Save your recovery codes somewhere secure.
MFA is enabled once the code is confirmed successfully.
Signing in with MFA
Each time you sign in, enter the six-digit code from your authenticator app. You can also choose Use a recovery code instead if you cannot access your authenticator app.
You may mark a browser as trusted so it can skip the authenticator challenge until that trust expires. Trusted browsers can be reviewed and revoked from your profile.
Recovery codes
Recovery codes provide backup access if you lose access to your authenticator app. Each code is intended for one-time use. Keep them private and secure.
You can view how many unused recovery codes remain and generate a new set after confirming your identity. Generating a new set replaces the previous recovery codes.
Turn off MFA
To turn off MFA, confirm your identity and choose the option to disable it. Turning MFA off also invalidates all recovery codes and trusted browsers.
Note: A manager with the appropriate access can reset MFA for another manager. This signs that manager out and requires them to set up MFA again.
